1. Make guacamole

OK I’m on a bit of a mission to get you to stop buying guacamole and to make it at home. It’s so much more delicious and really easy to make. Once you make it yourself you’ll never buy it again! Try making my chunky guacamole recipie.

2. Do something that lights you up every day.

It doesn’t have to be big, it could be having a bath, listening to your favourite song, enjoying your favourite drink, a cuddle from someone special. But make the time to do one thing that brings you joy.

3. Read the ‘Life changing magic of tidying-up’ by Marie Kondo

It may just well change your life! I now have a very different view of possessions, what I wear, what I buy and the things I surround myself with. Definitely worth a read.

4. Do something creative.

Last year I heard myself saying, I’m not really a creative person. This from someone who studied art all through school, has tried everything from quilling to calligraphy! So last year I got back to my creative side and took a photography course, I loved every minute of it. What’s the creative thing you’ve always wanted to do? It could be trying a new recipe, getting a colouring-in book (love that they do adult ones of these!), making cakes with the kids or even knitting!

5. Look after yourself.

I’m so passionate about this. These days a lot of us forget to look after ourselves, we continue with the daily grind when our body’s are telling us to rest. Look after yourself first and then you’ll have the energy for everyone else around you.

6. Focus on one thing at the time.

I’ve come to the conclusion that multi-tasking should be a thing of the past, it’s actually less productive than focusing on one thing at a time. Be it work or at home. The other night I noticed that whilst I was watching my favourite TV programme, I was also checking my emails and Facebook, it took me twice as long to watch my programme and I didn’t enjoy it as much either. So as I write this, I’ve turned my phone off, my wifi off on my computer and I’m focussing on just this. One thing at a time.

7. Try something new!

Try a new recipe or a new ingredient at least once a month. We can all get into a food rut, me included. Exploring new recipes and new ingredients keeps it interesting and it’s also a great way to get into that healthy mindset.

8. Look up!

Warning, I may sound a bit like a hippie! When you’re outside make the time to look up, it’s amazing what we miss when we’re busy dashing from one thing to the next. When you’re outside look around, look up, look at the trees, the birds, the sky and take it all in … I told you, hippie!

9. Take charge of your health.

Our bodies are so very amazing, don’t take yours for granted, shower it with love and make this the year that you really look after it. If you need some help just get in touch and we can have a chat about how we can work together.

10. Invest in yourself.

Investing in yourself is so important, whether it’s about learning new skills or looking after yourself, investing in yourself and making yourself a priority will help you be the person you want to be. What do you want to do this year? Do you want to go on a retreat? Have a facial? Learn a new skill? Decide what’s your priority and then invest in yourself.
